Laundry Nirvana

Carolyn & I have reached a mini-milestone in our home-owning life that I like to call "Momentary Laundry Nirvana." Through the course of our individual and collective lives we've used and owned many a washer and dryer. But anyone who knows laundry, knows they break and die. And anyone who knows home-ownership, knows that they never break or die at the same time. This August our Dryer died so we decided to replace it with a new style fancy dryer. But alas our 8-year old washing machine marched on with no problems. Last weekend we were lucky enough to find that our old washing machine was rusted out so badly that it not only leaked on our new addition floor (still concrete so no worries), but it also seeped under our new walls and into the studio and garage. This apparent bad news turned into good news when we realized the washing machine that matches our recently purchased dryer is still for sale! Woo hoo...so now we have reached that pinnacle of laundry contentment...a matching washer & dryer. Eat your heart out Frank & Jan....now ours match too!

Eagles come to Harvey's Lake

Now get your head out of football mode...I'm talking the bird not the football team. This is the tree in our back yard and this appears to be a bald eagle. It didn't stay long especially as I moved for a better photo, but when it flew away it was clear that this birdy was huge.
